Lamb Steaks in a Rosemary & Mint Sauce

Serves 2

You can substitute lamb chops for the steaks.

Serve with roasted potatoes and vegetables.

Ingredients

 

2 lamb rump steaks

1 tsp mint sauce

2 sprigs fresh rosemary

1 red onion, chopped

1 garlic clove, crushed

1 tsp sugar

125 ml red wine

125 ml beef stock

½ tsp salt

Method

  1. Sear the lamb steaks in a frying pan and transfer them into an oven proof dish
  2. Fry the garlic and onion in the pan until soft
  3. Add the remaining ingredients and bring to a boil
  4. Pour over the steaks and transfer to the oven at 160C for 45 minutes
